Riverview Drive Development
Benton Harbor, MI

Senior Urban Planner managing the concept design for the Riverview Drive Development, an urban infill project located along the St. Joe River in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Adam's responsibilities included site analysis, conceptual planning, and coordination with architects to develop a cohesive vision for the site and its mixed-use program.

The project focused on transforming a challenging riverfront site characterized by existing wetlands and floodplain constraints into a vibrant mixed-use development that enhances the city’s connection to the waterfront. Multiple design strategies were explored to test the site’s potential, including parcel subdivision, access and circulation networks, parking layouts, and public street frontage improvements. Working closely with the architectural team, I helped shape the overall building massing and program, which includes a job training center, ground-floor commercial and retail spaces, and upper-story residential units. The resulting concept blends economic development, housing, and waterfront access to strengthen the social and physical fabric of downtown Benton Harbor.
