Noo-Kayet Master Plan
Kingston, WA

Senior Urban planner helping coordinate planning for redevelopment of a 40-acre property on the reservation of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe. The firm was hired to lead a larger A&E team to develop a framework for future development connecting the Tribe’s entertainment district, featuring the existing Casino and Hotel, with a residential neighborhood currently being constructed for tribal and elder housing.

The Framework Plan illustrated future access improvements to the property based on collaboration with the local County who held jurisdiction over local roadways. In addition, the Plan laid out key land uses based on feedback from the Tribe’s market consultant and prepared high-level concepts for the first phase of the project which established an entertainment district including potential for a future micro-brewery/bar, cannabis dispensary and consumption lounge, distillery, sports book, and other common areas for public gathering and active/passive recreation among larger big-picture circulation and connectivity themes.

Included as part of the study, Adam helped lead introductory interviews with key project stakeholders from the Tribe, including planning, natural resources, utilities, facilities, and culture/history. Adam also developed an interactive, web-based, map, illustrating the proposed framework and offering Tribal Stakeholders an opportunity to leave comments.
