Muckleshoot Tribe Park Planning Study
Auburn, WA

Urban Planner supporting the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe in the strategic planning and utilization of tribal lands for a new community park. Adam’s role focused on guiding land planning efforts and facilitating community and stakeholder engagement to shape the park’s vision.

The project aimed to connect the Tribe’s existing entertainment and cultural assets, including the casino, race track, outdoor music venue, and pow-wow grounds, into a cohesive community landscape. By assembling and strategically planning tribal properties, the future park will strengthen community connectivity and enhance long-term tribal vitality.

Key tasks included stakeholder workshops, public engagement sessions, and youth-focused school outreach using a custom “Build-A-Park” tool to identify and prioritize desired features. Additional data analysis to determine trends and preferences was completed and scale comparison spatial diagrams illustrating the scale and connectivity of park elements were presented along with final recommendations in a summary report to Tribal Council.
